(EN) There is this very precise moment where it hits: the great history of the world, generally reduced to a glorified plot of Good versus Evil, akin to caricatured Westerns, shatters. You realize the lies you’ve been told and that this irritating feeling you’ve carried for so long but tried to keep quiet was just all this time: you’ve been caught up in the decade-long fantasy of the rich white man and crazy. chasing evil from his own shadow. Still stuck in the imposed script, you wake up each morning with questions about identity preservation and emotional regulation. This illustration attempts to represent the fatigue that this ultimately causes.

(FR) Il y a un moment très précis où cela te frappe : cette grande histoire du monde qu’on te raconte depuis toujours, généralement réduite à une intrigue glorifiée du Bien contre le Mal, semblable aux westerns caricaturaux, se brise. Tu réalises les mensonges qu’on t’as raconté et l’existence de ce sentiment irritant que tu portes depuis si longtemps mais que tu essayes de garder silencieux : tu embarques dans le fantasme d’une décennie de l’homme blanc riche et fou. Chassant le mal de sa propre ombre. Toujours coincé dans le scénario imposé, tu te réveilles chaque matin en soulevant des questions uniques sur la préservation de l’identité et la régulation émotionnelle. Cette illustration tente de représenter la fatigue que cela provoque.
